I'm doing this review after the first non-tutorial level. In short, this is a great game that delivers the experience you see on the tin. it has levels with waves of enemies and state independent economy and military installation while you run around during the night to join the fight. beyond that you unlock modifiers for added challenges which are optional and paired with optional perks. I could imagine extra things I would like to see but for now I got this on the play pass and I'm happy.

This is what Kingshot was trying to be in their ads. Thronefall is an awesome game, exactly as advertised. One of the few actual games on Google Play. Pay once, play forever without incentive to make any other purchase. There's "mutations" in the game you can select that remind me of skulls in Halo, except you get more XP and upgrade progress when you activate them. So far there's lots of room for progress in the game, I don't feel there's a close ceiling of progress. Having lots of fun! 😍

Worth the price! It has a fairly simple gameplay loop, and the base game is pretty simple, but it can have a lot of replay value if you're interested in seeing how you can manipulate the huge amount of possible combinations for the perks and mutators. No ads or pay-to-win once you buy the game is a great thing. If you saw the scammy Kingshot ads and thought that their fake gameplay trailers looked like they could be a cool game, this is definitely the game to try
