Media Player by Hostragons is a focused player for your own video files and supported streaming links.
Open videos from Android's document picker or from compatible apps. Play supported HTTP, HTTPS, and RTSP links shared with the app. Add external subtitles, choose audio and subtitle tracks, adjust video fit or crop, and continue from your saved position.
Made for Android phones, tablets, and Google TV:
• D-pad-friendly playback controls on TV
• Media session controls for supported system and remote controls
• Picture-in-picture where the device supports it
• Local files, compatible web links, and external subtitles
• Playback speed, aspect, crop, rotation, audio-track, and subtitle preferences
• Automatic frame-rate matching where the device and display support it
• Platform Media3 playback using device codecs
The app does not provide, download, or index media. Availability and playback support depend on your device, the media format, and the source you choose.
The complete playback feature set remains available for free. On phones and tablets, the free tier is supported by carefully limited Google AdMob ads. A banner can appear only on the content-bearing media-selection dashboard. After at least two minutes of active playback, a preloaded full-screen ad may appear when you explicitly choose another video. Full-screen ads are limited to three successful displays in any rolling 24 hours, with at least fifteen minutes between them. An unavailable ad never delays media selection. Ads never cover loading, playback, controls, errors, subtitles, picture-in-picture, or Google TV.
Optional Hostragons Pro removes every ad. It is an annually renewing Google Play subscription; the exact localized price, renewal terms, and management controls are shown by Google Play before purchase. No playback feature is locked behind Pro.
