About this app

Chicago runs on the CTA. Transit Tracks makes sure you're not the one running for it.

Whether you live in the Windy City or you're just passing through, Transit Tracks is a fast, no-nonsense bus tracker and train tracker. So you can spend your morning somewhere warmer than a bus shelter on Western Ave.

Features:
* Real-time CTA arrivals. Live arrival and departure times for every bus route and train line on the CTA network, updated continuously from the official source.
Service alerts on your route. Reroutes, delays, and temporary changes show up before they wreck your commute, not after you've waited 20 minutes.
One-tap favorites. Save the stops you ride every day and label them the way you actually think about them: Work, Home, Yoga in the Park, etc.
Nearby stops, instantly. See every bus stop and train station around you on a map. New neighborhood? You're covered.

Transit Tracks uses publicly available CTA data and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Chicago Transit Authority.
Real-time CTA bus tracker & train times, alerts, and nearby Chicago stops.

My favorite transit app. Easy to use and it let's me check multiple stops quickly. The estimated arrival times are accurate, unless there is an issue with the bus. I also like that you can see where the bus is at the time you're checking. Which helps me gauge when I should leave to catch it. Highly recommend for Android users.

The app is okay the only thing is that it's missing some other stops on most or some routes I don't know how many. Otherwise, the app is being rated 4/5 stars for me. The 126 is missing some stops going eastbound and I guess the problem is some stops not showing the buses pulling up and 2 routes like the 132 Goose Island Express and 205 Chicago/Golf are discontinued. It is still 4 stars for me.

This used to be my go-to tracker before lockdown, but it's been wildly inaccurate ever since—upending my travel plans and leaving me scrambling for an alternative more than once because it claims buses or trains are coming that never do. These issues are appearing with both modes and across multiple routes. Makes you wonder where arrival data is even coming from that's causing it to be so consistently incorrect.
