Don’t leave money on the table, collect your MO gas tax refund using the app!

In July of 2021, the state of Missouri implemented Bill 262, imposing an increasing gas tax every year until 2025 for gas purchased within the state of Missouri. Starting in 2021, up to 2.5 cents per gallon of purchased gas in MO will be refundable, and increasing by 2.5 cents in each fiscal year until 12.5 cents per gallon in 2025. Taxpayers must claim a refund by completion of the Missouri Motor Fuel Tax Form (MO4923- H). In response to this government bill, MO Gas Tax Back was created to help make the tedious process of generating this form easier.

The MO Gas Tax Back app makes tracking your Missouri gas receipts easy, and fills out your Missouri Motor Fuel Tax Form (MO4923-H) for you, saving you time! You just need to submit it to the state of Missouri.

This app charges you a yearly 20% fee based on the amount of your Missouri motor fuel refund at filing time for services rendered.

I was submitting these by hand using an Excel spreadsheet the past 4 years. Fortunately, I saw an article on my feed from Springfield, Missouri explaining that this wonderful woman had created an app. It's so much easier and no going through spreadsheets, hand typing and hand totaling. This is great! It also has a photo of your receipt so you have the backup right here as well. And I have had no glitching. It works perfectly and if it can't read something it asks. Very easy to use.

The app is clunky and difficult to enter items into. The frequent gas stations feature doesn't allow you to pick or "favorite" the gas stations so you end up having to enter the data multiple times which is frustrating. The automatic read feature doesn't work well and you have to redo most fields. Plus 20% of your refund is a high price to pay.

I got my refund only 4 days after I submitted the form! This app is easy to use. Take a photo of your receipt, each time you fill up, add a couple details and you're done. When the time comes to send in your form, you allow app to generate your form, pay a small fee (worth every penny) and follow the directions emailed to you. If you have questions, just email Ryan, his info is easily found in the app. He answers quickly - believe me, I know, because I asked a lot of questions.
