About this app

YardWild turns your Ring outdoor cameras into a passive backyard wildlife observation system. When motion is detected, YardWild identifies the non-bird wildlife visiting your property and builds an ongoing, curated timeline of sightings.

- AI-powered species identification with confidence scores
- Per-camera timeline of who came by, with a snapshot of each visit
- Species library, with a page for every animal your cameras have seen
- Biodiversity: how many distinct species your yard supports, and badges as it grows
- Conservation status from the IUCN Red List plus Wikipedia summaries
- Push notifications for notable species, with quiet hours and a weekly or monthly digest

Privacy by design:
- We never identify humans or birds.
- Frames containing only people are discarded by a pre-filter before any AI analysis.
- No location tracking. No advertising. No data sales.
- Deleting your account removes your data immediately.

Requires a Ring outdoor camera and a Ring account.

What’s new

For about a second after opening the app, the timeline showed each camera's internal id instead of its name.

The offline cache never stored camera names, so on a cold start every saved sighting came back nameless - and when a name was missing the app tried to make the id readable rather than simply saying "Camera".

Camera names now survive a restart and appear immediately, and an internal id can no longer reach the screen.
