About this app

Talkaro is a travel translator built for the moment you land somewhere you do not
speak a word of the language - before you buy a SIM card, before you find Wi-Fi,
before roaming kicks in.

WORKS OFFLINE
Translation runs on your phone, not on a server. Download a language pack once over
Wi-Fi and it keeps working on a plane, on a mountain road, or at a passport desk with
no signal. The ready-made phrasebook for English, Turkish, Spanish, French, German,
Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Russian, Dutch, Polish and Arabic is built into the app
and needs no download at all.

Every question comes with the answers you are likely to get. The person you handed
the phone to taps theirs, and the screen turns it back into your language. Asking is
easy; understanding the reply is the part other phrasebooks leave out.

TWO-WAY CONVERSATION
Switch the translate tab to conversation mode and you get two microphones, one per
language, the way a dedicated translator device works. Each turn is spoken aloud in
the other language and kept on screen in both.

Talkaro is free and supported by ads. The ready-made phrasebook is always unlimited -
you will never be blocked from a phrase you need at a passport desk. Free-form
translation has a generous daily allowance, and one short rewarded ad gives you two
hours with no ads and no limits at all.
