About this app

That $50 dinner on your credit card? If you carry the balance eight months at 24% APR, you paid $58. Most finance apps show you $50. Pay Down shows you $58.

Every purchase has a sticker price — and a real price. The real price is the sticker price plus the interest that accrues until you pay it off. Pay Down calculates and tracks that number for every transaction, on every card.

What you get

• See the real cost of every purchase — the original amount plus its allocated interest
• Know your debt-free date based on your actual payment pace
• Model what happens when you pay $50 more per month (or $200)
• Compare payoff strategies: avalanche, snowball, or cut spending
• Track progress as your balances actually move
• Deep spending Insights — true cost multiplier, category and merchant breakdowns, and effective APR trends across your cards (premium)
• Four free calculators: True Cost, Balance Transfer, HELOC/Loan Payoff, and Minimum Payment Trap
• Import transactions automatically via Plaid (premium) or from a CSV export from your bank (free)
• Monthly AI spending and goal review email (premium)
• Card sharing with your partner — included in one premium subscription

Who it's for

Pay Down is for people carrying a credit card balance who want an honest picture of what it's actually costing them — not budgeters tracking categories, not investors. People with debt who want to understand it and see a clear path out.

If you pay in full every month, Pay Down will still work. It was built for the person who doesn't.

Free vs. Premium

Unlimited cards, all true-cost calculations, debt-free projections, payoff strategy modeling, and all four calculators are completely free.

Premium unlocks three things: the Insights tab for deeper spending analysis (true cost multiplier, category breakdowns, APR trends), Plaid automatic bank sync so transactions pull directly from your bank, and monthly AI spending review emails. Card sharing with a partner is included in one premium subscription.

Get started

Add your first card, import a few transactions, and see what your balance is actually costing you. The numbers might be uncomfortable. That's the point.
