While using an iPhone, my favourite reading app was KyBook with it's simple and clean interface. Then I switched to Android and unsuccessfully tried to find something similar, but all of the Android reading apps that I've tried (all from Google store) looked like it was designed in a last century! I'm happy that there finally appeared something as nice as Lithium reader app! I adore it's features and UI. It even knows how to play videos inside a epub. Wow! I love this app. Thanks developers so much!!!
This is the dark horse of e-readers. It has the sick aesthetics of Google Play Books, but also some integral features that make the experience of reading so much nicer. I don't think I've seen a better e-reader than this! Only wish I could have found it sooner. Some notable features include: ability to scroll instead of turn pages, ability to use "original font" of the epub file, and of course a beautiful aesthetic design that makes the text beautiful and smooth; all the text is anti-aliased and every scroll feels like it's happening in a high frame rate. These features alone put it far above most other e-readers I've tried. The only thing missing is a dictionary, and of course custom fonts and themes (though custom themes do unlock once you upgrade). I would highly recommend using this with "Quick Dictionary," which is an app that can provide dictionary functionality while reading, without having to leave the app. Anyways, this is just about the best ereader I've used. The smooth experience is unrivaled, even if there is a feature or two missing (one if which can be corrected with a bit of tinkering).
Would easily be a 5 if it had built dictionary support. Besides that, it offers everything I could possibly ever want from an ereader. Clean interface, vertical scrolling, basic customization functions that aren't overly complicated, text searching, bookmarking and it's a very small download compared to some other apps. All in all very easy to recommend. I will say that the only reason I use this over Google books is a) it finds books on device instantly and b) has vertical scrolling. If you don't care about those things, Google books would be a better fit.
It's ad free, a very big plus. Page flow is smooth. Can configure either to turn pages or just scroll. The night theme (dark background white text) makes it comfortable to read at night. Dictionary option would make it perfect. Consider including orange background black text as in Google reader.
Best epub reader for android, currently using on a phone . I have held onto a. Ipad2 just for iBook reader, now I can get a decent android tablet to replace it. It would be good to have a sync between devices feature in future.
Nice app easy to use. Only drawback so far is deleted books seem to automatically re-download. If this feature was fixed app would be a 5 star.
• Lithium Pro is now available in 43 countries starting with the first premium feature: custom themes. Open the drawer in the book list and tap "Upgrade to Pro" to learn more. (You can access the custom themes feature by tapping the three-dots under Theme in display settings after upgrading.)
• German translation (thanks to a user)
• Books are no longer removed automatically if the file is missing.
• Bug fixes.
