Put the phone on the boundary rope and score the whole match with one thumb.
Cricket Forge is a scorebook first. Name two sides, set the overs, and the pad takes it from there — a single, a boundary, a wide, a no ball, a bye, a leg bye, a wicket. One tap each, and a full undo for when the umpire changes their mind.
SCORING A REAL MATCH, BALL BY BALL
1. Set up. Two teams, the overs, who bats first. Backyard, club or school — it does not care.
2. Score. The pad keeps the strike, counts the over, knows a wide is not a legal delivery, and on a free hit it refuses every dismissal except the run out.
3. Read it back. Batting and bowling cards, extras, the partnership after every stand and the fall of wickets — all built from the deliveries you tapped.
4. See it. The Manhattan draws runs per over as a skyline. The wagon wheel draws where the shots actually went.
5. Keep it. The match goes into your history with a shareable summary card.
Seven ways out, all of them scoreable: bowled, caught, LBW, run out, stumped, hit wicket, retired.
THE CAREER YOU DID NOT KNOW YOU HAD
Every match you score feeds a permanent record for every player in it. Batting: innings, not outs, runs, average, strike rate, boundary percentage, highest score, ducks, fifties, hundreds — and the same numbers split by batting position, so opening and coming in at six are not the same career. Bowling: overs, maidens, wickets, economy, dot-ball percentage and best figures. Dismissals are broken down by type, which is how you find out that it is always the LBW.
THE TOOLS BESIDE THE PAD
• Run rate and the chase — current rate, required rate, balls left, and an over-by-over table of what is needed
• Partnership analyzer — every stand, the split between the two batters, and the fifty-plus ones
• Par score — a rain-interruption estimate from this app's own simplified resource model. It is an approximation, it is labelled as one everywhere it appears, and it is not any official method.
FOLLOWING THE PROFESSIONAL GAME
Live scores, full scorecards, points tables, fixtures, results, news and an archive across the one-day and T20 calendar, with a switcher between the two formats.
No account needed. Signing in is optional: a free account with Apple, Google or an email address syncs your saved matches and career numbers across devices.
Scoring, the career analyzer, the tools and the live coverage are free. A Cricket Forge membership removes the ads and opens the rewards club.
