The GPS function of this app is accurate, within seconds and feet of my Garmin Forerunner 310XT. Finds satellites quickly. I highly recommend it. Great for walking, running, and biking. As a side benefit, my teenage son has started biking with me and has begun to take an interest in how far we ride. :) The only thing I'd like to see added is a lap button for when I walk/run at the track. Otherwise, everything is great. :)
GPS tracking is truly horrendous! Why am I jumping between buildings during my run? Even if the signal is shoddy, can't the app autocorrect it to a road nearby? I use Nike+ along with this, and that tracks without errors and with superb accuracy. As if this is not enough, the charts page just doesn't load and makes my phone unusable until I kill the app. Either issue a full refund or fix these issues.
I paid to subscribe to their 'Go' service, but can't get the app to connect to the Runkeeper training program I signed up for. They said it's a problem of the app being unable to connect to their server. Only way to get the app to work is to force stop it, then restart. Nothing like having to play with your app for a few minutes when you want to run.
This app got me involved in running, has helped me improve, and has kept me motivated and interested by tracking my goals and progress. Since starting, I've run in half-marathons and have my eyes on doing a full marathon this year! And even during periods I've fallen off track or fallen away from running all together, Runkeeper has helped me to get back on track! I've experimented with others before but this is by far my favorite running app.
Training plans are very buggy, I will be requesting a refund for my premium membership if it isn't fixed. Training plans I set up on the app don't sync to the website and vice versa. I was using the custom fitness training plans and it won't let you link a run to the plan's workouts. I set up a new training plan and completed the first workout and it erased the activity from the training plan and now I can't link the activity to the plan. Very frustrating to pay for a subscription to receive a buggy service.
Layout pleasing to the eye. Easy to read and navigate. Lots of training options. Ads are not too annoying. Syncing with MyFitness Pal is very nice. Several years in, I'm still using this app. I've tried several others still come back to Runkeeper.
Introducing a brand new Android Wear 2.0 experience! Leave your phone at home. You can now track a run with a GPS-enabled watch alone.
All stats tracked with your watch will sync with the app on your phone. That means you’ll be able to see mapped routes after you save.
