It was great till they stopped the chronological feed and got a new layout. Stuff that happened 2 days ago shows up at the top of the feed, and it takes forever to scroll through everything. Used to take just a few swipes to see everything everyone was doing. Now I have to swipe 6 times just to get past one group ride. Lame. Not worth the effort.
Overall a great app. Not every cyclist, runner or swimmer will like it. But everyone should at least try it. The developers must remember that the majority of Strava users are using the app for the data it provides and dont want another "social network". Or do we?
I was going to give you 4 or a 5 star but since the update a couple of days ago I'll be giving 3 stars. Why did you change the chronological order of my feed? Now I've got old stuff posts popping up at the top of my feed?
Well done Strava, you've managed to fix something that wasn't broken! The feed is now an unusable mess of bloated noise and illogical ordering. I now have no idea if I have seen all the activities that my friends have done and I my thumb hits lactic threshold trying to scroll. If this was an attempt to make Strava more social then it has failed miserably because most people will stop using it for following their friends. Fail. :-(
Not a fan of new timeline changes. 'Posts' seem too much like Facebook, and not being able to view activities chronologically is pants. Also, strava themselves are really rubbish at replying to and acknowledging suggestions and comments. Decent app otherwise. Would be nice if some cycling features were available for running.
The app at its core is fantastic, but changes made to mimic other social media apps (bc let's be honest, strava is a social media app, not a training app) has made it far clunkier and less intuitive. I miss straightforward strava. Chronological feed, which is the only way the app really makes sense, let's be honest. No posts, just activities. I don't need to see all the useless challenges that everyone I follow opts into. So yea, it was a 5 star aop and now it is a 3 star app.
- Workouts improvements: we are once again showing splits on all runs and increasing information density.
- Posts: we are launching non-activity posts, which enable athletes and clubs to post feed content.
- New feed: new feed layout making it easier to post, discover, and connect.
