About this app

Hydrostatics Calculator is an educational reference tool for maritime students, deck officer cadets and nautical professionals, developed by a Master Mariner and maritime lecturer.
The app works through the hydrostatics of standard nautical course notes and covers seven calculation types: waterplane coefficient, waterplane area, TPC (rectangular and ship shaped), cargo to load or discharge for a change of draught, displacement and TPC from hydrostatic tables by interpolation, and new draught after loading a weight.
Table calculations support MV Fleetwood, MV Broadwater and the generic Hydrostatic Particulars table, with values read straight from the tables by interpolation, exactly as taught in class.
Every calculation shows full step by step working, so you can follow the method rather than just the answer. The Definitions and formulae tab gives you every definition from the notes plus a quick formula reference.
Any result can be saved as a PDF report to your device, complete with the working, ideal for revision or checking coursework.
The app works entirely offline, collects no data, contains no adverts and requires no account.
