Ratings and reviews

Most equalizers have only 4 or 5 eq. sliders - far too few. XEQ has TEN SLIDERS!!! I went into settings and found "Zoom in the Equalizer" which stretches the EQ vertically allowing easier fine-tuning. EDIT: Years after initial installation I found, at 70 years of age, vocals were muffled and high frequencies were missing even with the sliders maxed out. Back in settings, I checked "Extended Dynamic - Full Power"... instantly I could hear everything again INCLUDING VOCALS! Thanks so much devs!!!

The free version does most of what you want, and it has a nice UI, but... starting in the background is a premium feature? There's just enough to not need to pay for it, except that one thing. Also, you DO NOT need to give it notification permissions. It works just fine without it, and it's annoying if you do.

Wow, this can really transform the sound of cheaper bluetooth speakers. Or even better speakers that aren't tuned well for e.g. spoken word or a given music genre. Can save presents for each Bluetooth device. Ads are pretty nonintrusive. FWIW, I wanted to buy pro purely to show support, but I backed out once I found out the price. Some sort of <=$10 option would been an easy yes, though. Maybe one day, if I start playing things aloud more often.
