You can only use the FreeStyle Libre 3 app with FreeStyle Libre 3 Sensors. It is not compatible with FreeStyle Libre or FreeStyle Libre 2 Sensors.

The FreeStyle Libre 3 app is intended for measuring glucose levels in people with diabetes when used with a FreeStyle Libre 3 Sensor. Ratings and reviews

My overall experience has been very good. I have used both the Libre 2 and 3. I love the Libre 3, but I wish some of the benefits the Libre 2 had could be incorporated in the 3. This is particularly true with the notes for events. The 2 had predictive text and autocorrect. That made it easier to type in your notes when getting ready to eat. Even though you don't have to scan the phone over the sensor to get a reading, I wish we could still use that feature. Overall, it's a great app.

I just switched from the 2 to the 3, and I really like not having to scan the sensor for a reading. I love that the size of the sensor is smaller. It's a more discreet experience. The alarm settings need work. There's no option to adjust them except to turn 3:4 of them off. You have to open the app before the blaring stops. There's no distinction of urgency... not so discreet on that part. It would be nice to adjust the tones and volume, maybe add vibrate. A widget would be a great option.

After a week, I found the app helpful overall, but it needs work. It has a spot to change the alarm tone, but it's disabled. The alarm is the most irritating at the maximum volume. With no warning severity difference. App will NOT stop the alarm until it's opened. App won't let the quiet time option shut off, even though it puts itself on the exception list. It shows the reading as a continuous line chart and other data views. You can add notes to the chart. Has days left for sensor operation.
