Great content poor app. Why can I not select a word and pull up dictionary or web/wiki search - basically you cannot select anything so a lot of the advantage of electronic vs paper is lost. Reading from the web site in comparison is a much better experience. The only advantage is offline reading .. but then on tube trains how long are you offline not long in London .. on a flight .. well that's what the paper edition is for. Rant over.
This was a good app, but the FT have done something to their software recently. So if you have an Android phone, you'll have problems with the FT paywall even if you are a premium subscriber. Most irritating and the FT are unresponsive on this issue.
The gateway to high quality paid journalism is a bit too much of a gate and less so about way of convenience. Highly irrelevant notifications that bug me about articles on the subjects not on my interests list. Inability to copy a few words to quote the article, and no way to look up a keyword in longer stories. Limited to only most recent stories. Other than offline reading there is not much to using this app over reading via mobile Web browser. P.s. I have premium (paid) subscription.
Looks like they fixed all of the issues I used to have with the app. They even removed the limit on clippings! Articles are great as always.
FT is more like a newspaper than a Web news source and I like that because it means real reporting and vetting happens. It would be good, however, if we could get a digital copy of the printed copy as we did from the FT App in the past.
Great content, great interface. It's a delight to read high quality journalism.
