About this app

Authik generates the two-factor codes you use to sign in — and keeps them on your phone. Your accounts, secrets and codes are stored only on your device, encrypted, and leave it only inside an encrypted backup file you export yourself.

YOUR SECRETS STAY ON YOUR PHONE
• Accounts, secrets and codes are never uploaded, synced or shared. They cannot be — the only way anything leaves the device is your own encrypted backup export.
• No account sign-in, no ads, no advertising ID.
• The camera is used only to read QR codes; nothing is recorded or sent anywhere.
• Authik counts anonymous feature usage (for example "a backup was exported" — never what was in it) to guide development. Turn this off any time under Settings → Share usage statistics.

LOCKED BY DEFAULT
• A 4–6 digit PIN protects your vault, with fingerprint or face unlock on top.
• Secrets are encrypted with a key held in the Android hardware keystore.
• Auto-lock timers and "lock on app switch" close the app the moment you leave it.
• Brute-force throttling slows down repeated wrong PINs.
• A one-time recovery code gets you back in if you forget your PIN.
• Hide codes until tapped, and (Pro) block screenshots and screen recording.

ADD ACCOUNTS ANY WAY
• Scan a QR code with the camera, pick a QR image from your gallery, or type the setup key.
• Import everything from Google Authenticator in one go using its "Transfer accounts" export.
• Tap an otpauth:// link and Authik opens with the account pre-filled.
• Time-based (TOTP) and counter-based (HOTP) codes; SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512; 6–8 digits.

BACKUPS THAT WORK EVERYWHERE
• Export an encrypted backup file (Argon2id + AES-GCM) to anywhere the system file picker reaches — local storage, Google Drive, a USB stick.
• The same file restores on Authik for Windows, macOS and iOS.
• Restore merges with your existing accounts or replaces them, your choice.

• Home-screen widget for your pinned accounts — tap to copy.
• Launcher shortcuts to scan a QR code or enter a key.
• Folders with colours, search, sort, multi-select, and long-press actions.
• Copy the next code early, show a code in a notification, or reveal an account's QR code to move it to another device.
