A world of learning and fun, made just for kids
We created YouTube Kids to make it safer and simpler for children to explore the world through online video – from their favourite shows and music to learning how to build a model volcano (or make slime), and everything in between. There's also a whole suite of parental controls, so you can tailor the experience to your family's needs.

A safer online experience for kids
We use a mix of filters, user feedback and human reviewers to keep the videos in YouTube Kids family friendly. But no system is perfect and inappropriate videos can slip through, so we're constantly working to improve our safeguards and offer more features to help parents create the right experience for their families.

Get the scoop on all the control features available to you:

CHILD PROFILES:
Create up to eight child profiles, each with their own viewing preferences, video recommendations and settings.

CHANNEL COLLECTIONS:
Select collections of channels on a variety of subjects by trusted partners and YouTube Kids.

PARENT APPROVED CONTENT:
Make sure that you're in control of what your children watch and hand-pick the videos, channels and collections of channels that they can see.

BLOCKING:
Found a video or channel that you don't want your child to watch? Block it to automatically remove it from all of your children's profiles.

VIDEO REPORTING:
Alert us immediately by reporting videos that shouldn't be in the app. The video will be sent to us for fast review.

SEARCH CONTROL:
Turn search on so that your children can access more videos. Turn search off for a more contained experience by limiting the experience to channels that have been verified by YouTube Kids.

TIMER:
Set up a timer to put limits on how long your children can use the app.

WATCH HISTORY:
Keep tabs on what your children are watching in the app.

WATCH ON TV:
Gather your family and enjoy YouTube Kids on select TVs.

Important information for parents with Family Link Google accounts.

You can create Google Accounts for children under the age of 13 in Family Link. Your children can sign into YouTube Kids with their Family Link Google Account. You can access parental settings in the Family Link app and enable an additional content level setting in our app. Opt in to an 'older' setting if you feel that your child is ready for less restricted videos. These videos may contain some explicit language and imagery, violence and suggestive content. In addition, this setting tries to exclude mature content, but no automated system is perfect and your child may find content with nudity, highly offensive language and extreme violence. Please note that parent approved content is not available if you sign into YouTube Kids with Family Link Google accounts.

The Privacy Notice for Google Accounts created in Family Link describes our privacy practices when your child uses YouTube Kids with their Family Link Google Account. When your child uses YouTube Kids without signing into their Family Link Google Account, the YouTube Kids Privacy Notice applies.

Ratings and reviews

I love the idea and app. It will filter many unwanted contents. But it would be good if they update these settings.1. While we add a channel instead of videos child can view only videos in one channel. If they want to watch videos in other channel they have go back two times and go into next channel to watch other contents. It is very difficult for 3 years old. It would be the best if the UI looks like normal YouTube with added colours.2.Cannot change the video quality so it lags too much.

One constructive feedback - Timer feature is great. however timer needs to be selected each time i open the app. sometimes i forgot to set the timer and my kid watches the videos for very long time. it will also be great to introduce an auto timer which can be started when app is loaded or app is being used after some interval of time. this will be a really good feature to provide more controlled access to kids.

I liked the option that you can choose specifically what videos or video channels appear to your kids. But what I don't like during casting a video on the TV, that if you're at the mid-point of a long video, and my kid asks me to start it over, I have to click on the backward botton using the remote control and wait for a long time. You cannot start the video over in one click.
