This app is the best picture gallery that I have used. The auto backup feature is perfect for those who take a bunch of pictures but can't keep them on their phones and don't want to allow Facebook to have access to everything. Just used the auto-rotate feature and it flipped 10 photos for me at once... What a time saver and a great preventative when you are showing off your pics to your friends and family.

Great app to backup and organize preservable quality photos even with the free storage option. This is the only place where I backup my photos taken with my phone. I also backup photos from my desktop taken using my DSLR. The desktop uploader needs improvement though. It often fails to backup some photos. Also I use Lightroom to edit my DSLR raw photos, but there is no ways to upload the photos with Lightroom edits, the unedited raw photos get uploaded and you have to either edit those again using the photos app or you have to export edited photos from Lightroom and then upload to Google photos. Lightroom integration would be great. I love the auto organization, album and gif generation features of the photos assistant. Overall like the app. Lightroom integration will make me love the app.

I cannot tell anybody enough how much I love this app! Google can only impress me more and more! The app chooses pictures by different categories and it can automatically create suggested folders for those categories, such as creating a folder for when you take a picture with someone. It figures out who you are and labels the folder "me." It also creates creative pictures, collages, and videos and asks if you would like to save them. I can't wait to see what else Google has to offer, because so far I am entirely satisfied with Google, so much more than any other tech giant out there!

They've made a couple large steps forward recently in my opinion. And since I have a pixel device I get unlimited storage at full HD. This is what I use instead of quicpick nowadays. The one thing I think that could be improved on is when photos are added is to have the ability to run the facial recognition feature as a utility on demand. And to be able to help train the AI by setting examples for a person's face. Great app though. I use it daily

This app is so good. Very nice UI and UX. However, I really wish that there was an easy way to rotate my cloud photos without digging deep into menu options, and without saving the rotated image as a copy. I just want to rotate the existing photo. Android app needs the ability to edit the date of a photo (iOS app has this feature). An additional con is that this app really heats up my Nexus 9 weeks browsing a lot of pictures. Performance starts to hiccup too.

I absolutely adore this app. It takes random photos and stylize them for me, photos that I might have overlooked before then. It takes photos and puts them into a collage, photos that I didn't even know what goes so good together. It also randomly reminds me of the past by showing me photos of the yesteryear!! Heck it even takes my receipt photos and puts them in its own folder for me because it knows, it really really knows! This app is okay good at what it does that it's almost creepy! I love it and I'm so glad to have finally started using it!

I love the way this app reminds me of earlier photographs and memories from years ago. Also it creates panoramas from clicked pictures and albums for recent trips. Recently the photo editing part of the app has been changed which I don't like. Earlier the app used to save the edited pictures separately allowing user to create multiple files of the same photograph. Now after recent updates the editing gets saved in the original photo itself. Also while sharing the edited image only the edited image gets shared. Once the files are transferred to other device one cannot get the original photograph. I would love to give this app 5 star if this change is brought back.

Just amazing. My photos are backed up everywhere, on every device. I only need to log into Google on any device and I have every photo at my fingertips, no more forgetting USB drives to show family photos/college projects! The Photos Assistant is a cherry on top. The I love the animations it makes from my burst shoots, the collages and the movies are great too.

Now my review about Photos has completely changed,. Google has features this app with some of the most vivid filters & effects and I love it. But still you can't FLIP pictures, seriously .. this feature is available in all the photo viewing app I have ever used and is crucial. And I also think that college feature needs to get better with more designs options and shapes. But keeping aside these drawbacks of Photos , it's an amazing amazing app by Google.

In general very useful and I really enjoy using it. However, very recently the app has problems opening shared photos. It just keeps loading forever but does not open the photos. It also doesn't show me the shared photos in the respective category within the app. Also, if I apply changes to my own pictures it does not save those changes but keeps on loading... This is not an issue in the browser app, but only on my smartphone. Using Nexus 5x with the most recent Android 8.1 update.

I no longer worry about losing pictures! They are all backed up, and can be accessed from any device! The app also makes fun animations, videos, and collages. You can search for pictures with keywords. The only thing that would make this better would be some type of face swap--taking a person's face from one picture and inserting it in to another. I have a big family, and it is hard for us to get a great picture where everyone is smiling and looking at the camera at the same time!

I wouldn't know what to do without my photos. My life is told and people tell me theirs when we share photographs. The assistant helps me to do practically everything. Really! I just give direction. Assistant does everything else. Don't forget! Free storage! I simply cannot say enough great things! Check it out and rest easy because its taken care of. My photos are safe.

I can't tell you how exciting it is to get a notification from this application that reminds me of what I did or what happened 1, 2 or 3 years ago. Absolutely exceptional especially because it compiles those photos nicely for you and sometimes it creates albums based on your timelines adding a nice montage with music - absolutely beautiful! It really encourages you to start taking photos so you can build many albums over time.

Working better as time goes by, but a simple add on of likes etc. would go a long way. Edit 1/1/2018: Would be nice to organize albums instead just one type of sorting. Also sometimes the backups from Pixel 2 XL to the cloud doesn't fully translate, then videos are lost forever. No bueno.

I really do love that my pics are safe in one place! #1 rating its unbelievable how they make great moments out of your pics into either videos, collages, and or animation pics . Google really has made photos a whole new experience. Now if only I can get internet in my home I'd be set to print instead of paying Walgreens. Just love it would give them 10 stars..Thank you so much for making kewl video shorts, animations, Etc. Etc. for me especially of my pups..I love them all !

Anything made by Google is going to be top notch. Especially on a Nexus device if the rumors are true about full resolution backups at no charge (for Nexus devices) Update several devices later. Even better on Pixel 2. Google is amazing with image intelligence. It creates awesome collages, movies and stylized additions to your photo library. When I look at a group of pictures, Google always picks the same ones I would have. Google sees smiles and eye contact in photos.

This truly is an amazing app. I've been using It for many years now and It gets better and better. I've never had any issues or problems with It. Only good things to say honestly. It does soo many cool things with your photos like collages, animation, movies, books, albums, and much more . And much of it it will do for you on its own without you asking it to do it . It puts together the greatest collages and animated photo collages of your best pics every time you take New pics. I just love it. And it will keep all your photos from all of your different apps all here in one place which is so convenient. I highly recommend using this awesome app. It's the best 😊 !!

Google does it all for me. I just get notifications to show me how my new photos can be used. When need a picture, I have it. It doesn't matter whether I took it with my phone or tablet, there it is. If you're like me and you take multiples so you're sure you've gotten a "good one", the app itself makes short "movies" from them. I like that because you see otherwise hidden things one select picture can't show.

Perfect if you use your phone to take pictures...so basically ANYONE with a smartphone. Doesn't matter if you have an iPhone (heaven forbid) or the master race Android phones it just works. This will automatically make animations and stylized photos from pictures you've taken and help you organize your pictures better than anything else. It's a no brainer if you have a phone that you take pictures with!!!

I appreciate that you can log in anywhere and never have to worry about losing photos and video's. Only way it would be better is if it only allowed one copy of each photo. Could you apply a version of facial recognition to recognize copies and prevent the app from backing up multiple copies? I run into the issue of having to delete copies after I put the photo onto a new device and the app backs up the photo as a new one. Looking forward to a response from Google or an update either way does not change how I feel about the app. I still give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Who doesn't use this app?! It's amazing, it saves you time and it's A.I. has amazing capabilities (although I predict it will be better in the future). I can get my images from my laptop, from my phone, from my iPad; making it varsatile as the app allows you to access all your information from any Operating System.

For my Google pixel XL, this honestly is the best app ever to exist. Nothing wrong with it whats so ever, keeps all my photos, no ads, organized perfectly, easy to make new folders. Just overall easy to find any old photo you are looking for. Never compresses them, makes useful suggestions to delete photos that are just taking up space. This app is amazing. For the pixel, and all other Android phones.

Dear developers, please add features of android gallery specifically creation of folders instead of album in the application without which it is very difficult to organise the photos. Creation of album doesnot make it search friendly it places photos in the same location originally. Then we need to do the sorting and organising work again what we had already done in gallery. Moreover, whenever new photos are added, the same doesn't assigned to the album automatically for which it was intended. This is complete waste of energy and patience. It will be better to copy the photos in the same way as it appeared in adroid gallery. Your album should be named automatically based on the folders of the users as they were appearing in their adroid gallery. Any new additions of photos then should be automatically assigned to the respective album to which it was added in the gallery. This will lessen replication of works.

I absolutely love this app! It keeps all my pictures backed up and easy to access from any of my devices! It also is easy to search for a specific person or even by simply typing in a describing word. After I got this app I made all of my family get it too to save their pictures on! If you skip out on this app you will regret it later.

I think this app SUCKS! IT NEVER Gives me all my photos, rarely does it give a few. I don't recommend it to anyone. If it's supposed to be easy for other, perhaps they don't have hackers like me WITH NOONE TO HELP ME ALL OVER GOOGLE!

Absolutely love this it puts mini videos and animation photos together for you catching some fantastic memories all in one. It has been designed by some very clever people (obviously) and it seams to be able to pick out all the important photos and put them together for you. Also you can make your own up. Can not rate it enough

First of all need to be faster on starting, I don't need to see its welcome page. Also I need more tools to edit photos such as resizing photos and add texts. And at the end I need more viewing options in different kinds of view albums. If these things be added to this app then I don't need any other photo galleries or editors.

It is a great app however for some time, it hasn't been working. I don't understand why. Whatever new photos I have on my original gallery, they do not back up unfortunately it says I have no storage space when clearly all my photos that are uploaded there are events, not downloads of celebrities and movie stars. However the good thing is that I can still view all pictures from Google Drive.

The editing software on Google photos used to be great, now it's almost non-existent. They only provide the most basic editing functions. I hope that this is only a temporary omission. Is love to see Snapseed integrated into this app. Also, you need to include a way to make pictures private (and not the archiving feature)!

I am constantly breaking phones and losing pictures. Thanks to google photos I never loose anything. The assistant feature is awesome! And the panoramic with multiple pictures is very cool. Easy to use and free! You think it would be a cheap app with its freeness. Never had a bug and always runs perfect.

It's pretty easy to use. Makes animations, collages and albums out of the pictures its self. It does a good job! I look forward to seeing what its going to come up with next. Also let's you back up the pictures and videos easily and even automatically if you want. Then you can take them off your phone if you want.

Useful app! Organizes photos easily. I especially love the monthly "Your day, October 31st, with dif years," where it pops up a short video show of your pictures from that day, say 5 years ago, just out of the blue!!! Brings back good memories that I had forgotten about, which is invaluable since I am so busy and rarely take the time to look back on my pictures of the past. LOVE it!

However something changed in its features recently that have captivated me in a most extrodinary way.. The app just asked me if I want to clear up space, so I clicked yes. It said okay, "removing original photos from this device" without asking if that's what I wanted. Now I have to figure out where they went and hope they weren't just deleted. The app did not say how to retrieve the photos, so I hope they aren't just gone.

It's a great app for backing up and sharing but when it auto sorts photos into "things" (airplanes, cliffs, etc) you can't change where they are. It thinks that a bird is a plane and a night light is food, but I can't do anything to move the photo to the correct category. Please make this a feature and I'll rate 5 stars. Otherwise a great app.
