I use this as a left wing source to hear from a Liberals perspective. While mostly staying factual with an opinion twist, it's sometimes too much to the point it is misleading. Notice how I said SOMETIMES, because most of the articles are pretty accurate. Just be sure to not use the Guardian as your only source.
This rating is only for the app's performance, not for the news content. I used to use The Guardian in preference to the BBC app for news as it was so much faster. However the BBC now has its act together and the app is easy to use and fast to load. The Guardian is now very slow and constantly freezes despite updating. I just can't use it even though I prefer its content. Shame.
Get rid of infinite scroll in sections that aren't about current events (and even the ones that are). If I'm wanting to read something like the Cities section, I read an article published some time back, hit the Back button for the main article list, and then I'm back looking at entries that were published this week rather than the ones published months back I'm trying to catch up on. Then I have to "infinitely scroll" to get back to where I was. Also frustrating if you want to read a section like that in chronological order. I'm sure that not many people do that, but I also don't see what benefit infinite scroll gives over the disadvantages of it jumping bank several "pages" when trying to read a series of articles, and COMPLETELY removing the ability to do a chronological read. Also, seeing "page x of xx" is a nice indicator of how much content there is on a topic. Anyway, I've just given up on trying to read the history of cities series, because it's literally impossible. If there's another entry point to being able to read the whole series, it's not intuitive. I'd like to do a retrospective read of Marina O'Loughlin's articles with her recent departure, but I'm not even going to try
One of the best news sites. It would be nice to be able to download some images when offline reading though...
