We bought the Hola Barcelona 3 day pass online, very easy to do. Once we arrived stopped at the ticket machine at the airport and activated with the code received. Highly recommend downloading the app as soon as you purchase tickets. It was a life saver for us, not only does it tell which train/bus to take but also gives you the steps when walking making it very convenient.

The Hola Barcelona app is useful if you want to find tourist information, but doesn't provide as much practical use as I'd like. To improve the user experience, allow digital transport/attraction card usage via QR codes/NFC and don't require people to pick up passes at kiosks. Add filters to transport and attractions searches to eliminate ones that aren't included in the Hola pass, such as showing A1/A2 transport lines or attractions that require a cost versus those that are free.

Very bad customer service. Waiting almost 7 weeks now for a refund. The app will not allow me to add tickets in the e-wallet section in order to request a refund. Customer service is unable and unwilling to help. EDIT Your reply here is the usual I'm getting from customer service - unhelpful copy and paste answers. As outlined in my original review, I have done this and it does not work I have sent screenshots to customer service showing this.
