Viewing files is free: HTML, PDF and Word, plus the browser tab, no payment at all. Creating and editing files is the paid part, so you're right that not everything is free. If a plain viewing screen asked you to pay, tell me which one and I'll fix it.

Required subscription to use basic features. Use an online compiler.

Opening and viewing files is free, no subscription needed for that. I hear you on the editor though, and I am working on letting people try it before paying. Thanks for saying it straight.
