About this app

Portover turns the contacts on your phone into a standard backup file you own — ready for a new phone, a new SIM, or just peace of mind.

It reads. It never writes. Portover cannot add, edit or delete a single contact on your device, and it does not ask for any permission that would let it.

FREE, WITH NO LIMITS
- Back up every contact to a .vcf (vCard) file — no contact limit, no watermark, no locked pages
- Save the file to your Downloads folder
- Send it to a new phone any way you like — Quick Share, Bluetooth, a cable, a cloud drive, email. You pick; Portover simply hands the file to Android's share sheet
- Restore from a file — choose a .vcf and Portover passes it to your phone's own Contacts importer
- A contact health summary: how many duplicate records you have, and how many contacts have no way to reach them

MOVING TO A NEW PHONE, IN THREE STEPS

2. Tap Send and choose how it travels.
3. On the new phone, open the .vcf file. Android imports it directly — Portover does not need to be installed there.

The file is a plain vCard, so it also opens on iPhone, Windows, macOS, Google Contacts and Outlook. No lock-in: the backup is yours, in a format everyone reads.

- Duplicate report — see which records repeat and exactly which rule matched them: same number, same email address or same full name
- Clean backup — a new file with the duplicates left out, keeping the fullest record of each person. Your phone is never modified; you simply arrive on the new one tidy
- Calendar backup — your events as a standard .ics file that any calendar app can read
- App checklist — what is installed here, as a spreadsheet with a Play Store link for each, so nothing is forgotten on the new phone
- Back up chosen accounts only — Google, SIM or device
- Spreadsheet export — contacts as .csv for Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets
- Backup vault — keep every backup you have made, not only the most recent one
- Backup inspector — open any .vcf file, from Portover or anywhere else, and see exactly what is inside before you import it

HONEST BY DESIGN
- Portover's own code makes no network requests and there is no server behind it. Turn on airplane mode and everything except starting a subscription works exactly the same.
- No account, no sign-up, no email address, no advertising ID.
- No ads, no analytics, no crash reporting, no third-party trackers.
- Two permissions, both read-only: Contacts, to build the backup file, and Calendar, only if you use calendar backups. Nothing else.
- Messages and call history are never touched. Portover does not ask for those permissions and does not back them up.
- Backup files stay in the app's private storage until you delete them, or hand them somewhere yourself.

PORTOVER PRO SUBSCRIPTION
Pro is an auto-renewing subscription billed through Google Play, offered weekly, monthly and yearly, each with a free trial. The current price and the trial length are shown by Google Play in your own currency, both inside the app and on this page. It renews until you cancel, and you cancel in Google Play > Subscriptions.
