We are an app-based online marketplace dedicated to selling marine debris materials to be made into artworks and selling finished artworks made from marine debris. We also do much more including three key things:
1. Supplying remote communities with the tools, equipment, and knowledge needed to create art from marine debris.
2. Providing a digital space where you can buy and sell artworks and materials made from marine debris.
3. Material Verification and Connectivity: We have established a system that verifies marine debris and connects cleanup crews with artists and makers. By tracking and tracing materials from the beach to the point of sale, we ensure the authenticity and environmental impact of the artwork.
Everything is free, we charge no commission to artists and sellers. There are no strings attached. Funding from our supporting partners at listed at the bottom of this webpage makes it all possible.
We are committed to making a difference through art and community. We follow the Australian National Association For Visual Artists (NAVA) Code of Practice to ensure that all interactions with us are fair, transparent, and respectful of your rights.
Here's some more information if would like to know a bit more about how it all works:
The Hunter Gatherers Networks project empowers remote communities to convert marine waste into meaningful works of art. Through a dedicated online marketplace, customized training, and the necessary tools to repurpose ghost nets and other ocean debris, the initiative helps people in Northern Australia transform plastic pollution into a sustainable source of creative income.
