Pockets by ICICI Bank - The most comprehensive mobile wallet to (1) Pay Anyone, (2) Shop Anywhere and (3) Bank with ease for any bank's customer. Pockets is the first app in India to offer UPI Payments, Bharat QR code payments. With Pockets wallet, you instantly get a free virtual VISA card that can be used for shopping at all online websites/apps. You can even request for a physical card that can be used at stores. Moreover, you can recharge your prepaid mobile or DTH connection and pay your utility bills from within the app. You can send money securely to bank accounts, your contacts or virtual payment addresses using Unified Payment Interface (UPI). That's not all, you can upgrade to a Pockets Savings Account right from the app to get a debit card and create deposits.

New: Introducing payments through UPI. You can now transact (send and collect money) using UPI and manage your Virtual Payment Address or VPA from Pockets. You can also use UPI to pay merchants.
UPI ID is a unique ID that is used to make UPI payments in place of bank account details.
UPI PIN is similar to your Debit Card PIN number, a 4 or 6 digit number which needs to be set by you while creating your UPI ID. For all your UPI transaction UPI PIN is necessary. Please don’t share your PIN.

1. Shop Anywhere


(a) VISA Card – The Pockets pre-paid wallet is a VISA card, which can be used to shop online on websites such as Amazon. You can even get a physical card for payments at shops! Use it for small value payments without disclosing your debit/credit card details.

New: In store payments using UPI, mVISA and Bharat QR code.

(b) Scan & pay – Make secure cashless payments by scanning UPI QR, Bharat QR and mVISA QR codes without the need to swipe a card.


2. Pay Anyone

(a) Transfer funds - Transfer funds instantly and securely to bank accounts and your contacts (via UPI, mobile number, email, WhatsApp, Google+). You can also request money from other Pockets wallet users.

New: Pay and collect money from anyone instantly using Unified Payment Interface (UPI). UPI allows secure money transfer without disclosing bank account details.

(b) Prepaid Mobile Recharge - Recharge your Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Reliance, Tata, Aircel, BSNL, MTS & MTNL connections.

(c) Bill Payment - Pay utility bills such as Reliance Energy, BSES, NDPL, BEST, MSEB, Torent, Mahanagar Gas, Indraprastha Gas, Gujarat Gas.

(d) Postpaid Mobile & Land Line Bill Payment - Pay Postpaid bills for Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Reliance, Aircel, MTNL.

(e) DTH connection recharge - Recharge your Tata Sky, Dish TV, Airtel, Videocon, Sun.

3. Bank with ease

(a) iWish Deposit - iWish is a flexible Recurring Deposit that lets you save for your goals as and when you have the funds and earn better interest rates just like a Fixed Deposit. You can also create regular FD/RDs.

5. Help at Hand - With chat built into the app, support is just a tap away. You can also always call us or email us.

Ratings and reviews

Extremely buggy and non friendly app. To top it there is no website that you can access whenever app misbehaves, which is almost always. I've been on call with three different agents across two weeks to just get past the initial cryptic error messages, with most of the solutions being request to reinstall the app again. I'm still stuck at setting up the PIN stage. Unfortunately, I'm forced to use this because of my organization, I wish I had an alternative.

The most hopeless app that has been ever made. I believe it was developed and then forgotten by ICICI to maintain it. I have verified my phone number in the app and set my mPIN. First it doesn't redirect automatically to login page after successfully setting new PIN. When I press cancel and go to home screen and enter my MPIN, it never logs me in and kept stuck on home screen only. Reinstalled this app and deleted temp files in belief that it shall resolve the issue but unfortunately it didn't.

I would like to give minus /negative rating, if option provided. This app doesn't go further after DOB validation. Done everything possible in terms of catch deleting, done app multiple type reinstallation but all efforts in vain. Waist of time completely. Don't know from where to access my wallet balance. This bug has not been resolved more than 2 months now. If ICICI bank IT team really wants to work on this bug, kindly connect me on my mobile number which is registered in bank under KYC.
