kDrive is a secure Swiss cloud for collaborating online and accessing your documents, photos and files on all your devices. Your data is stored exclusively in Switzerland in the heart of Europe, in environmentally-friendly data centers.

The free package offers 15GB of storage from the etik.com page. Paid offers start from 2 TB of data in a sovereign cloud that respects privacy.

Ratings and reviews

There's a lot to like here with some limitations. This great to browse and download files from your kDrive. But it's limited with editing files and offline sync. I have a big folder full of plain text files I use as notes. While I can store them for offline use, I'd have to select that option for every single file. You can't select a folder for offline. Also, I saw no way to edit a simple text file so the changes sync to kDrive.

Almost 5 stars, however two things: One, it doesn't read photo metadata to list gallery images according to when they were taken. Secondly, there does not seem to be any way to exclude folders from the gallery view. It'd be nice if I could somehow exclude some folders to not appear in the gallery. For example, by placing a ".kdrive_gallery_ignore" file would be an easy way to indicate such a folder, just an idea.

Well. It does the job with issues. Overall a good service, kDrive, affordable too. Secure from political waves, too. But while selecting the photo directories I want to back up. It kind of works, if you only scroll on the already selected directories - otherwise the app will forget they were selected as you scroll down. Very strange. If you're used to Google Drive, just prepare yourself. It's similar, though not the same.
