About this app

Ideal for students and professionals.

In Germany alone, computer fraud causes billions of euros in damage every year. Security in information technology (in short: IT security) is particularly important for companies and other organizations under conditions of global networking due to cybercrime. In order to control the complex process of IT security, security management is required that covers both the construction of a technical infrastructure (firewalls, intrusion detection systems, etc.) and organizational measures (security policy, selection of security measures, etc.). responsible for ensuring IT security.

The course provides a step-by-step introduction to the topic of IT security, with detailed explanations and comprehensible examples. It is therefore possible to get started with little previous knowledge and experience in the field of IT security.

The aim of the course is to develop a solid understanding of IT security processes. You will acquire the necessary knowledge to set up effective security management in your own company or organization.

The written exam can be taken online or at a campus location of the FernUniversität Hagen of your choice. If you pass the exam, you will receive a university certificate. Students can also have the ECTS points they have earned certified for a Certificate of Basic Studies.

Further information is available on the FernUniversität Hagen website under CeW (Center for electronic further education).
