Ratings and reviews

So far fantastic! It has all the features and customization options I was missing in the Google Podcasts app and more: multiple playlists, artwork, chapters, maaaany options regarding downloads, playing order etc! It did take me a few days to figure out everything, but now I love it! Also, it's a steal at that low price for the ads-free version (thankfully no subscription) if you're interested in that!

For me, the whole user experience could be summarized as "annoying". This already starts when I have to define a download location. Normally, apps give you the choice between internal memory or card. But I do not think it is convenient to ask the user to choose a path and create a new folder. This is something the app should manage in the background. Second, maybe it's the German translation but I do not understand the description and therefore the difference between the automatic and the smart download. Also, if you choose one of these options, it asks you, if it should activate it for all podcasts. But even if you answer this question with "yes", the settings of the existing podcasts still have downloading disabled. No setting whatsoever managed to download an episode automatically but the app still reports "no problem". And as the whole interface is so cluttered and confusing (at least for me), I gave up after some hours and uninstalled it.

Since few months ago, this app gets silent every few minutes randomly. I can continue listening, when I pause and play again. I am now using the app for downloading the audio files and then I have to find the file in the storage and play it with a music player. UPDATE: the issue was triggered by my phone's power manager which put some background apps to sleep once the screen is locked. However, the app could have paused the track instead of playing it silently. As a software engineer myself, I hope the developers can add a feature to notify "the reason of entering the sleep mode" as soon as the user unlocks and switches to the app.
