About this app

The Fives are capable of full app control, including a Virtual Remote and EQ. To get these capabilities, you need to update your Fives. This app walks you through the process, and installs necessary updates to enable the Virtual Remote and EQ capabilities you've been waiting for.

After you have successfully updated your Fives, you can safely uninstall this app. All future updates will come through the Klipsch Connect app.

What You Will Need:
• Internet access
• A USB thumb drive, at least 1 gigabyte in size
• Access to a computer or device to copy update files to the thumb drive
• About 20 minutes

After the updater has completed, you should un-pair and re-pair your Fives.

The app is probably fine, but the instructions on the Klipsch website are atrociously unclear and confusing. They instructed me to perform actions that weren't options on my computer. I just kept trying different combinations of steps until, on the third night, I got lucky. Hire a good technical writer, people.

Buggy on Pixel 7 Pro. After connecting to my speakers, selecting them in the app would regularly just re-open Bluetooth settings instead of letting you begin the upgrade process. I had to disconnect and reconnect about 30 times when trying to get it to let me begin. Performed the USB firmware update, then the Upgrade then aborted twice, throwing an error about incompatible firmware before working on the third try. Very inconvenient and time consuming. Connect app doesn't work until this is done.

In general it is easy to use and communicative, but less tech savvy users might have difficulties on the first step. A list of confirmed compatible USB drives (or confirmed USB drives that have had issues) might also help users troubleshoot. I used a fairly modern drive (Kingston with USB A and C on the other end) and it was flawless, so better communication on drive compatibility could be appreciated (Also an animation of how the update looks on the speakers could be very helpful!)
