About this app

Wear Casts is the most popular standalone podcast player for Wear OS smartwatches. Stream or download podcasts for offline playback and listen without your phone on you.

Connect Bluetooth headphones directly to your WearOS smartwatch and listen to your favorite podcasts. The phone app also supports playback with the position syncing between devices.

If that wasn't enough, you can also send custom audio files for playback on the watch.

Features:

* Custom playlists

* Sync position between watch and phone app

* Keyword monitoring

* Import podcasts using using RSS feeds or an OPML file

* Auto-download episodes

* Upload custom files to watch

Note: Wear Casts works only on smartwatches running Google's WearOS. It does not run on Samsung's watches running Tizen OS which is any Samsung watch before the Galaxy Watch 4.

New users, read the tutorial at the developer's website because there's a lot of controls that could be difficult to find. I just found a solution to an issue. Features I'd like to see: - use it from my phone w/o watch (I don't want to bring the watch on trips because it requires its own weird charger) - hide "Local" list (I haven't ever used it, but it is always present) - rearrange a built in playlist

This is a very useful app, the only standalone watch podcast app I could find. Out works well and the interface is nice, the only problem I have is that streaming podcasts over wifi will give you a error message halfway through and it won't go away until you force quit the app. This isn't that big of a problem for me as I would just rather download it anyways.

Downloads frequently fail. Issues with the UI: There's no way to access subscriptions from the watch, and it's hard to find them in the app. For some reason you can add the same podcast multiple times. Doesn't keep track of which episodes you've already listened to. There are only a some of the most recent episodes of the podcast available, not all.

Sorry you are having issues with Wear Casts. Not sure why you can't access your subscriptions from the watch, it's the first screen when the app loads. The downloads failing maybe because you are downloading over Bluetooth. Try downloading over Wi-Fi if possible. If you go to Settings -> Episodes you can change the number of episodes to return all.
