This is in response to Matthew R L Brown's post about the "major flaw". The major flaw is that you didn't set it up right. After you enable multifactor authentication in Lastpass, you're supposed to go into the Lastpass settings and add trusted devices. Add your phones, your tablets, your home computers, your laptops.. add any devices you use and trust, and you won't have this issue. If your phone gets stolen or explodes, you can still access your Lastpass account and all of your stored logins from another trusted device.
The app is unusable. The QR code scanner is broken. I have even put my phone in a tripod at various distances from the code with the same results. That would be fine if the manual entry page made any sense at all. The user is not directed to anywhere to find the information it's asking for. Was this app even tested?
Some useful features but not the best I love smart lock compatibility with fingerprint and notification one tap for logging into lastpass but it's so lacking compared to others. Only recently was the ability added to rearrange sites but there's still no way to sort automatically by A-Z. Where's all the useful features lastpass has like categories and folders?? And sites are so big you can only see a few on screen at once. Finally there's no way to backup codes which makes re-adding each token a nightmare to deal with after a factory reset.
This is google authenticator + finger print login + two factor login for lastpass. These are great add-on but the app has one major flaw. Unlike the magic of LastPass itself where all your credentials are saved in the cloud to LastPass. This authenticator saves all the two-factor tokens to the local device. Which means if you change device you have to go and setup all your accounts again. But worse if your phones crashes or gets lost, you lose ability to log into all your accounts. My phone crashed and I had 10 two accounts setup. I'm know having to contact all the vendors to get help accessing my accounts again. I would rate this app 5 stars if I didn't have to go throw this nightmare. I found 'Authy' app which saves to the cloud. I recommend 'Authy' over this app until LastPass add this functionality.
I have to open the app twice (fingerprint authenticating twice) for all sites except LastPass. Super annoying.
No sync? 3 stars only 5 star if they offer cloud backup. Back to Authy as I don't want to setup everything again.
