The last two updates brought a new look (which I don't really like, but that's a personal opinion) and managed to break 90% of my lights. Using the Win10 app works, using Echo with the LIFX skill works. It's the Android app that has some error, and because of that I basically can't use my phone to control anything. If I didn't have the Echo (as some people don't and might have the same problem), I'd have no way to control my lights.
App worked great before latest update, now lights do what they want, including randomly joining other groups. Windows 10 App works fine, please don't update that until you get some decent programmers In answer to your reply: I've emailed them three different times(LIFX support), all I get is a canned response saying they are busy.
Latest update which just changed the skin again from all I can tell just lost half my lights somewhere. Fix some of the basic stuff first like connectivity issues and the functionality of some of the effects
This update brought a new look. It's bad. The last look was clean and modern, but they've added these weird glow orbs below lights, and borders to the buttons. Compared to current design trends, this is going backwards. Unlike a lot of people, this update didn't lose any of my lights, the rating is based solely on the look.
LIFX was the first real competitor to Philips Hue. Their bulbs are actually quite nice. However, their complete inability to provide a companion app that works consistently makes me wish more and more every day that I had just been a good sheep and bought the Hue bulbs because while IMHO inferior in many ways, at least they work the way they should. Also, given that Google has now disappeared from the integrations tab, can we finally get an admission that these bulbs will never fully work with Google Home without a half-baked IFTT recipe???
Last update destroyed, what was good experience. Most of my lights are not even connected to the app. They do whatever they want. So upset. Android app is the only way I had control over lights. Please fix the bugs/issues with the most recent app updates.
We’ve added a new effect to animate your LIFX lights and strips, great for the holidays! We are continuing to work on improving the connectivity of our lights over your local network and ensure that your lights respond as quickly as possible after you start the app. We have fixed an issue with the brightness wheel not updating all the way to 0 or 100% when moved quickly. The app has also been translated into the Italian language.
