premium is required for most basic features. service is very expensive, not a good deal at all, just a money grab. i could never justify spending that much when there are so many free resources available. beginner lessons are more like intermediate and very repetitive. Cannot change native language, it automatically defaults to system settings, and dictionary language only helps so much to change native language experience. - -

I really like that it focuses on listening, as that is by far my biggest struggle in learning new languages (working on Norwegian). The reason I can only give it 3 stars is because the audio and the cards are so out of sync that there is absolutely no way to double check if I heard correctly or if there's an unfamiliar word to see a translation. Thats a massive bug in the app.

The lifetime subscription for one language, at around $220, was expensive but within 3 days after paying I'd studied over 10 hours so to me it was worth it. I wish there were a lifetime plus feature that included the ai voice generation feature. I import movie subtitles and watch along, import books and news articles etc. I will say the grammar lessons are terrible but this app is intended for immersion not textbook grammar study so it doesnt matter. You can ask AI to explain grammar better.
