This app has lots of content, but it's not organized well, and the interface is, unfortunately, simply unusable. It's difficult to "continue learning", i.e. pick up wherever you left off, whether it be in the middle of a lesson, or between lessons that are grouped together in a course. It's also difficult, or perhaps impossible, to identify whether you have already completed a lesson or course. A for the idea, C- for the content and organization, F for the UI/UX, F overall.

I'm sorry LingQ has been difficult. We're constantly working on making our interface more intuitive for new users. Focus on reading and listening to lessons, clicking blue words, and creating LingQs. Soon you will find a process that works for you. Email me at if you want more tips on how to make the most out of LingQ.

This is the best single resource you can use to understand a language through listening and reading. But it is only what you make of it. This app won't hold your hand through a language like Duolingo and some other apps, but this is a good thing. LingQ works best as a customizable experience, you should be learning the language through content that appeals to you whether it's articles, books, podcasts, YouTube, or screenplays. No other app promotes a better approach to language learners.

The concept is A+. The UX & UI are horrendous: Green plus button that deletes is the same green plus button to add to "Continue learning", you can only import from the Lessons page and not from the individual course, going to Playlist has a Courses section but none of my courses show up, the tutorial to add a meaning has shown up multiple times with no way of skipping/disabling it, no way to disable gamification streak notifications, import doesn't support formatting, and more. Mobile & PC user.
