About this app

Every bike in the house, in one recorded place.

The commuter, the kid's bike, the cargo bike, the good one - Crankfile is the record book for all of them. What's fitted, what was done, when, by whom, what it cost, and what the household's own schedule says comes round next. Typed in by hand, kept on the device.

No account. No GPS. No ride sync. No feed. The record stays with the bike.

THE RECORD - ONE PAGE PER BIKE
- Make, model, year, colour, size, frame number, where it came from, and the distance on the clock as far as the household knows it.
- Components stay on the record: what's fitted, in what position, when it went on, and the reading at the time.
- The service log records what was done and by whom - a shop visit, a Saturday in the shed, a new chain, a set of brake pads - with the date, the reading, and what it cost.
- Miles or kilometres - the whole app follows the household's own settings, from the distances to the dates.

THE HOUSEHOLD'S OWN SCHEDULE
- Set reminders per bike - a chain check every 2,000 miles, a brake check every 1,500 - the household's own interval, nothing imposed from outside.
- The Due board gathers what has come round, bike by bike.
- When a line comes due, that is all it means: the schedule the household set has come past its mark. Crankfile keeps the record and the reminder. It isn't an inspection, and it doesn't advise about your bikes.

COSTS, KEPT STRAIGHT
- Every service entry carries what it cost.
- The spend ledger keeps what the shed has cost, year by year. (Pro)

THE NOTE WRITER
- Crankfile writes a workshop note straight from the bike's own record: one for the shop, one for the bike's next owner, one for the household.
- Notes are built on the device from what is already in the record - nothing else.

FREE AND PRO, PLAINLY
Free keeps two bikes, each with its full record - components, the log, the reminders, and the note writer.
Crankfile Pro keeps the whole shed: every bike in the house, with the fleet board (everything due, every bike, in one place) and the spend ledger (what the shed has cost, year by year). One payment, billed once a year through Google Play.

NOTHING ELSE
No ads. No accounts. No analytics. No ride tracking, no location, no sign-in. Crankfile keeps records and reminders, on the device, where the bikes are.
