Small print is the last thing anyone designs to be read. Steadyloupe is a camera magnifier built for exactly that: a label, a serial number, a bank statement, the back of a medicine box.
Point, zoom, read it. This is the magnifying glass you reach for by instinct, with the parts that usually fail fixed. Pinch to zoom, tap the torch, and choose from six filters including high contrast, inverted and yellow-on-blue. Freeze any frame and study it without holding the phone perfectly still.
Text, read out loud, offline. Freeze a frame and Steadyloupe recognises the words and reads them back, one sentence at a time, following along in a large read-out. The recogniser and the voice both run on your phone. There is no upload and no account. On a flight or in a basement, it still works.
Sharp: the one thing the others miss. The complaint in magnifier reviews is always the same, that it went blurry the moment they let go. Sharp takes a short burst while you hold still, aligns the frames, and averages them. Hand shake and sensor noise cancel out instead of being resampled, so the detail is there when you zoom back in.
The pinboard. Freeze something you will need again in a minute, the meter reading, the Wi-Fi password, the part number, and it waits on a shallow tray instead of in your photo gallery. Frames expire after a day and a half, so nothing piles up.
Free, and what Pro adds. The magnifier itself is free forever: every zoom, the torch, the freeze, all six filters, read-aloud, and three pinboard frames. Pro adds Sharp, twelve pinboard frames, and share or save of any frame as a picture. It is one yearly subscription bought through Google Play, and the app always shows Google Play's own price for your country, never a number of our own.
Privacy, in one sentence. Nothing you point the lens at leaves this phone: the reading runs on a model inside the app, the speaking runs on the voice your phone already has, and the only network use in the app is Google Play's own billing check.
No ads. No account. No tracking.
A note on the camera: Steadyloupe needs camera access to magnify anything, and asks for it with a plain sentence the first time you open it.
Magnifier that stays sharp: zoom, filters, read small print aloud.
