sowpatch is a planner for an allotment or a kitchen garden: a plot drawn to scale, the beds you actually keep, and a year that says what to sow when.
It is built for the way an allotment really works — one plot, a handful of beds, a rotation you are trying to keep, and a season that fills up faster than you expected.
THE PLOT, DRAWN TO SCALE
Set your plot's size in metres or rods and place each bed where it stands, in its real size. The map on your phone then matches the ground behind the gate, instead of a list of bed names that never quite lines up with reality.
BEDS THAT REMEMBER
Every bed keeps its own record: what is growing in it now, what grew there last season, and which plant family it belongs to. sowpatch watches the rotation for you and tells you which groups are clear to follow the bed, and which would repeat a family too soon.
THE WEEK LIST
Your year is a strip of weeks. Each week shows what to sow, what to plant out and what should be ready to pick, from a catalogue of 67 crops. The quiet weeks are shown as quiet — that is part of the plan too, not a gap in it.
HARVEST RECORDS
Log a picking in a few taps: bed, crop, weight or count, date. Across a season you end up with the record of what each bed actually gave you, which is the only honest way to decide what to grow again.
PAST SEASONS
History stays with the beds, season by season, so you can compare this year against the last one crop by crop.
THE CULTIVATION RECORD
When a site agent questions whether a plot is being worked, or a plot changes hands: export a PDF of the season — plot, beds, plantings, harvests and dates — drawn on your phone, ready to print or share.
FREE AND PRO
The free app holds one plot, up to eight beds and three seasons of history, which covers a first plot comfortably. sowpatch Pro lifts those limits, keeps every season, and adds the cultivation record PDF. Pro is a yearly subscription through Google Play. If you stop subscribing, the free plan keeps working and your records stay on your phone — you simply stop adding beyond the free limits.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
No account, no sign-in, no cloud sync. Your plot, beds and pickings stay in this app's own storage on your phone. sowpatch does not forecast the weather and does not diagnose plant disease or pests. It is a record and a plan, not a promise about the season.
PRIVACY
Nothing leaves your phone. There is no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, no tracking and no advertising ID. The privacy policy is at loadcircle.co.uk/sowpatch/privacy and the terms are at loadcircle.co.uk/sowpatch/terms.
