If you choose a lesson that you later realize you don't want, you cannot remove it. It clogs up the menu board. Likewise, once you submit a meme, you cannot retract or edit it. Having control over those two factors can improve Memrise's user friendliness. What I would love to see in updates is the ability to learn Latin--both Church and Classic Latin. Latin? Yes, please!
I think this app is genius. I'm a tutor and I really enjoy this app because it is like a game. I just wish you could swap languages. And maybe get a taste of what the paid services for a limited amount a day or maybe even a week. You know to just show everyone what's so awesome about the paid services will do. Awesome app!!
I've been using Memrise for about a week, and I love how much I'm learning! I was always nervous and a little anxious about Japanese because I wasn't sure if I could cut it, y'know? But this app has really made the process of learning another language fun, easy, and interesting. I honestly look forward to my time with Memrise. Give this app a try, learn something new, it's good for you!
So far I am enjoying using the app. Find it relatively easy to use. I like the use of audio and seeing the symbols. My only complaint which is personal. I would have trouble remembering words outside of the app because I need to physically write the symbols in order to remember them. Thats down to user instead of app but would be a nice feature.
Great for helping you with pronunciation since the recordings aren't robotic and the videos are native speakers. I also love the daily repetition of words until they become natural, hence the apt title "Memrise". The drawback is it doesn't teach grammar rules (maybe it does under PRO?) unlike Duolingo which has a notes session and online users ready to answer questions when you're stuck so I use both apps daily to meet my needs.
Getting worse! Although I hate the stupid space ship theme and the idiotic undercover agent nonsense, I've stuck with it because the basic premise is sound and the app worked. Since the last upgrades this is not the case. The courses take a while to load and sometimes freeze altogether. The type face in Speed Review is so small that it is impossible to read on a mobile device and is thus useless. Also, the leaderboard totals have not updated for over a week. It wasn't broken, so why the bloody hell did you fix it?
