About this app

Moto Camera Tuner V provides camera tuning updates to improve color, contrast, picture noise, video noise, and sharpness. It is not a standalone app and has no UI. Rather, it applies these improvements to the camera hardware so that any app that uses the camera will be improved.

Moto Camera Tuner V is posted as a Play Store app so that you don’t have to download a full phone system build in order to access these updated features.

Portraits, especially with the 3x lens, often show overly warm skin tones. 4K video stutters on all lenses, and the app lags when switching modes. Telephoto white balance needs fixing, as whites turn greenish and skies look pink sometimes. Portrait edge detection and depth effects at 24/35/50mm need improvement. Highlights are too strong, HDR is weak, and lens switching during video would help. 4K 60fps on all lenses would also be great. The camera is good but could be much better.

I have turned off the auto AI edit feature, but I can't take a photo without it automatically editing it with an awful filter. I HATE it because I was excited about having a nice camera. but the photo aspect makes it not worth it.

Hi Lakin, sorry to hear about this. Can you please send us example photos where you feel it was applying an awful filter to camera@motorola.com? We'd like to investigate this further.
