Messages is a fast, no-nonsense SMS app built for people who send and receive a lot of texts — and want more control over them than a stock messaging app gives you.

Set it as your default messaging app and get a clean, modern inbox with the everyday things you'd expect (search, favorites, unread filters, quick-reply notifications, dual-SIM sending) plus a set of genuinely useful power-user tools most messaging apps don't bother building.

• Recycle Bin — accidentally delete a conversation or message? Recover anything soft-deleted for up to 30 days instead of losing it for good.
• Advanced Filters — find exactly the message you're looking for by combining keyword search with date range (including a custom start/end range), read state, SIM, and more.
• Unlimited Pins & Unlimited Secured Chats — the free plan lets you pin one conversation and lock one conversation; unlock these to pin and lock as many as you want.
• Custom Themes — restyle the entire app with one of nine hand-designed palettes, from a warm metallic gold to a stark black-and-terminal-green look, each with matching chat wallpapers.

BUILT WITH PRIVACY IN MIND
Your messages are stored locally on your device in this app's own database — there's no account to create and nothing is uploaded to a server we run. Backups are left entirely up to you and your device's own backup settings.

WHY SET IT AS YOUR DEFAULT SMS APP?
Android requires a default SMS app to have full access to send, receive, and manage your texts. Messages requests exactly the permissions that role requires (SMS, contacts for caller ID, and phone state for dual-SIM routing) and nothing more.
