Ratings and reviews

This game is practically unplayable without a stable internet connection. You will receive a popup every few seconds notifying you that there is a conflict between the local save and the cloud save. It will continue popping up every few seconds until you choose the cloud save and lose all your progress. Otherwise, it's good. They made some nice quality-of-life improvements over the original. Your first move is always safe. And it's faster to play than the original because of improved controls.

UPDATE: I talked with support, and the solution was to uninstall and reinstall the game. I have since had to do this three times. I still like it, but it's annoying. I enjoy the game, but it has been restarting constantly saying "a newer cloud save file was found." I couldn't find any way to troubleshoot this issue, and it's getting hard to play with the frequent restarts.

It's really great to play a FAIR game of minesweeper. On the Windows 98 version, there were so many impossible scenarios that ended up basically being a coin toss between two or three different squares, sometimes multiples times in the same game. it's nice to play a minesweeper that when you lose, it 's your own doing and not the fault of poor planning on the part of the devs!
