About this app

NetLens turns your phone into a handheld Wifi survey instrument. Walk a space - a home, an office, a warehouse - and watch signal strength become a map you can keep, compare, and export.

FIVE WAYS TO MAP
- Heatmap: hold the phone in front of you and walk. The rear camera supplies visual-inertial tracking - the same motion tracking that powers ARCore - so every Wifi reading is placed in 3D by the phone itself. No floor plan to upload, no account, no markers on the walls. A live 2D heatmap fills in along the path you walk.
- 3D Scan: keep walking up stairs and outdoors. A point cloud builds around you, every point colored by the Wifi measured there. Orbit, pan, and pinch the finished cloud, tap any point for its exact dBm, and read the size of the space off the dimension lines.
- Terrain: walk stairs, slopes, and rooms that are not one flat floor, and save a 3D map of the ground you covered. Reopen it like a 3D Scan, with measure lines and a grouped access-point picker.
- Floor Plan: no camera required. Import a plan, sketch, or screenshot, then tap where you stand to drop each reading. Early taps fade instead of flooding the drawing; neighboring blobs melt as the survey fills in.
- Quick Scan: a live AR look with nothing to save. Point the phone and see signal painted on the floor - useful for finding a dead zone in seconds.

WHAT YOU GET
- Live heatmap that grows as you move, color-graded from weak to excellent signal
- Filter the map to a single access point, a mesh group, or one band (2.4 / 5 / 6 GHz)
- Adjustable map layers: heatmap, walk path, photos, and an underlaid floor plan you can fade to line up with real rooms
- Color palettes including a colorblind-friendly option, plus a custom hue
- Photo markers placed on the map and carried into the PDF
- Export a PDF report, a PNG, raw CSV, or a single interactive HTML page (3D Scan and Terrain). Open the HTML in any browser, on a laptop or a phone, with no app and no internet.
- Group scans into projects and export a whole multi-floor building as one combined PDF
- Extra live tools: Networks, Channels, Signal, Connection, and a Speed Test with saved history
- A first-run tour of the hub, and a Playground page for Quick Scan
- Example Heatmap, Floor Plan, 3D Scan, and Terrain on a fresh install - none of them use a free slot

PRIVACY
Everything you capture stays on your device - Wifi scans, point clouds, Terrain maps, photos, notes, and exports never leave the phone until you choose to share them. No account and no cloud, and no behavioral profiling or tracking tied to your identity. The only data that leaves the phone is anonymous, opt-out usage analytics (you can turn it off in Settings) and, on the free tier, the ad requests behind the banner. NetLens uses location permission only because Android requires it to scan for Wifi; it reads nearby networks and, during a Full Heatmap only, may stamp a coarse position so a scan remembers which building it came from - and even that stays on the phone.

FREE AND PRO
The free tier covers 1 project, 3 heatmaps, 2 floor plans, 2 3D Scans, 2 Terrain maps, and 5 Quick Scans a day, with watermarked PNG export (clear it on one export after a short ad), a sample CSV (first 10 rows full; full CSV with Pro), a full in-app PDF preview (saving or sharing the PDF file needs Pro), and every live tool unlimited. Free shows small banners on browse and tool screens (never over the map or camera) and occasional full-screen ads before some Quick Scans. One-time Pro - no subscription - lifts every creation cap, unlocks the full PDF file and full CSV, and removes ads and the PNG watermark. Anything you already created stays fully viewable and exportable on either tier.

REQUIREMENTS
Heatmap, Quick Scan, 3D Scan, and Terrain need a device with ARCore (Google Play Services for AR) support and a working rear camera. The Floor Plan tool works on any supported device.
Walk a space in AR. Heatmap, 3D Scan, Terrain, or floor plan. Stays on-device.

Not only one of the neatest networking apps I have ever seen, but even in general. This lets you map out your wifi signal on a per room basis, so you can end up with a full map of your location. The best part might be the other builtin tools like the channel graph, which not only shows what channel your connected router uses, but other routers around you AND suggests what channel is best to use (which matched my current channel choices exactly). There is also a connection detail page with tons of details and an AP browser to see everything detected. Super impressive app and I hope it has a great future.

This means a lot to me, thanks for taking the time to check it out in such detail. This is what drives me to make it even better, so stick around, there are more features coming!

The best wifi tool to date and I've only been using this for a week. This app will do great in my job when we set up our own APs for conferences. Also just fun to mess around with at my home or at the office or just any wifi connection. Keep up the good work. Also if I had one request. Please consider Folding phone's unique aspect ratios going forward in your development. Not that it was unusable on my Fold 8 but the layout/UI definitely seems a bit zoomed in.

This really makes my day to hear that - I am still continuing to work on more improvements and am always taking feedback. If you could send me a screenshot of what you are seeing on your Fold 8 it would be very helpful, along with any other suggestions you have. DopamineFixx@proton.me

The app is easy to use and really good. Just a side note: For Indian users, the WiFi scanning rate will be a little bit slower unless you disable WiFi scan throttling in developer options, but none of your government or banking apps will open unless the developer option is disabled. But the app is still very good even with the throttled scan in case you don't want to enable and disable developer options all the time. Highly recommended.

Thank you for this! That is a very useful tip as well that you mention about throttling. I will include that in my help section. I appreciate your feedback
