Tablo is a device that lets you watch and record live TV, subscription free. Just one Tablo delivers antenna TV and free streaming channels to every screen in your home.
Simply connect your TV antenna to Tablo, connect your Tablo to your home network, and you can enjoy live sports, local news, and favorite broadcast TV shows, and even free ad-supported streaming channels on any Fire (Android TV) device via the Tablo app.

Can't use app when not on same home network as Tablo device. Therefore, can't schedule programs to record when not on home network. Can't watch recordings from app unless on home network. Basically, you can't do much with this app unless you're on your home network. Not unusual for server to be unavailable. Only my Roku can find the Tablo device. My Fire Stick can't.

Occasionally works as advertised, which is nice when it works. But far too often, many hours are required to troubleshoot yet another problem with the app or with the hardware. Be ready to devote many frustrating hours restarting and following their extremely simple instructions to no avail. Oh the factory restarts only to set up the channels all over again, as well as reprogramming the DVR for the 10th time. There has got to be a better way to record the football game on Sunday.

Still can't watch programs from the start while recording is in progress. This seems like a critical function missing for a DVR. Can't record a game and start watching it 10 min. in. I have to be there at the start to manually pause it! Seriously!? App is much more stable. Other than the above, it works as expected. But the above alone makes it frustrating to use. Stopping recordings in progress to watch the beginning seems crazy. But it's what I have to do with Tablo.
