It got slow after the latest updates. The previous versions read the card immediately at the moment the card was tapped on the phone. Now, it's necessary to open the app and 2 clicks to finally get to tap the card and check the balance. Besides, the app takes longer to fully open after these updates.

The app has potential, but probably severely hindered by some random legislation or compliance. Doesn't recognizer HKID card, needs to register the octopus csrd before top up, app crashes upon using the "bank top up" option. It's easier to top up at 7-eleven / OK convenient stores than setting it up for you and your family members. Update (2026 Q1): they added several ads to slow the app down and show between top-ups app switching... It is 100% certain topping-up at 7-eleven is quicker.

No longer tops up correctly. Previously it would open my banking app seperately. Now it tries to open the banking app within the octopus app, causing the banking app to fail to show payment approval screen. I have updated both the banking and octopus app, yet the issue peraists.
