About this app

Is your monstera turning yellow? Not sure if that's a pothos or a philodendron? Planter is the plant identifier and plant doctor that helps you figure it out in seconds.

Take a photo. We'll tell you what plant it is — or what's wrong with it.

What Planter does:

📷 Plant identifier from a photo. Houseplants, garden plants, succulents, trees, flowers, weeds, leaves. Point your camera and identify any plant in seconds. The fastest way to answer "what plant is this?"

🩺 Plant doctor for sick plants. Yellow leaves? Brown spots? Drooping stems? Snap a photo and diagnose what's actually wrong: overwatering, underwatering, spider mites, root rot, nutrient deficiency, sunburn, fungal disease. Then get a fix that works.

💧 Plant care reminders that fit each plant. A snake plant doesn't need water like a fern does. Planter builds a custom watering schedule for every plant in your collection and reminds you when it's time.

📖 Plant care guides for 360 popular species. The plants people actually own: pothos, monstera, fiddle leaf fig, snake plant, ZZ, calathea, succulents, herbs, and hundreds more. Light, water, soil, repotting, fertilizing, and toxicity to cats and dogs.

📔 Plant diary and growth tracker. Photo journal, care notes, what worked and what didn't. Watch your fiddle leaf go from sad to thriving.

🌿 Your whole plant collection, organized. Sort by room, by type, or by who needs water this week. Your digital garden in one app.

Why people switch to Planter:

Most plant identifier apps stop at identification. That's the easy part. The hard part is keeping the plant alive once you know what it is.

Planter is built around that — diagnosing what's wrong and telling you how to fix it, in plain language.

Overall I do like the app. It's super useful for tracking water/fertilizer when you have a ton of plants. It's really buggy, though. I'll mark a plant as watered and fertilized at the same time, and most of the time the app only saves one of the events. This makes entering plant data take way longer because I'm forced to exit/reopen the app and re-enter events for them to be saved. I also wish there was a way to pay to remove ads.

Good app to record the name of plants, notes & set reminders. Pictures constantly disappear after saving. Not helpful for pictures, since they all disappear when you open the app. Since reporting this issue, pictures are now staying. Changing rating from 3 stars to 5 stars. This is a great app. Other apps like this are not free. Highly recommend.

Not recommended. I switched from Planta to this app 5 months ago because of its clean interface and reminder features. I even bought the annual subscription. Sadly this app is getting harder to use with every update. Why should withered plants be listed in my plants and count towards the number of plants I have? This makes the interface less clean, and it forces you to upgrade your plan. After the recent update, it takes forever to load anything. Not going to renew the plan.

Thanks for the feedback and for trying Planter. Withered plants staying in your collection is intentional so their history (notes, reminders, growth) isn’t lost, but you can remove them anytime and they won’t count toward your limit. The app shouldn’t be slow — please contact support at contact@plantermobile.com so we can investigate.

What’s new
