About this app

Oto is an app for people living with tinnitus, the ringing or buzzing you hear in your ears. You get it through a participating audiology clinic, and your audiologist stays involved while you use it.

At the center of the app is a library of calming sounds you can listen to any time, day or night. Around the sounds sit short guided sessions and lessons about tinnitus.

What's in the app
• Calming sounds: white, pink and brown noise, nature and environmental sounds, and layered soundscapes you can mix yourself
• Volume control and an optional sleep timer, so you can leave sounds running overnight
• Short guided sessions of about 5 to 10 minutes, built on CBT techniques. They sit alongside the sounds, as part of the plan your clinic sets up
• Short lessons about tinnitus, so you understand what is going on and why
• Optional reminders, private notes, and simple progress tracking you and your audiologist can look at together

How you use it
1. Your audiologist sets up your account and shows you where to start
2. Listen to the sounds when you want them, and work through the sessions at the pace you agree together
3. Your audiologist reviews how you are getting on and adjusts your plan

How do I get Oto?
Oto comes as part of a tinnitus care plan from a participating audiology clinic. There is no separate app subscription to buy.

If your audiologist or ENT has not mentioned Oto, ask them about it. You can also find a participating clinic here:
https://joinoto.com/providers

What does it cost?
Your clinic sets the price of the care plan, and the Oto app is included. Your clinic also sets how long you keep access: most give around 12 months, and some give lifetime access. Full detail here:

The app feels great, actually. Interface is great and exercises are great. But it is expensive! 320 euros for a year. Paid 80 for 3 months upfront. I won't be able to afford it past those months. I would be okay with a price between 10-15 euros a month. I know it is hard to maintain the cost-effectiveness, but this app is not really a luxury, it is a very much needed thing for every tinnitus sufferer. And l hope the price goes down, the more people sign up because l love it!

Hey, thank you for your review. We completely understand and we’d love to make it cheaper if we could, but this is what we have to charge to cover the costs of the app. Most users need Oto for around 4 months - so that makes the yearly option much better value. Feel free contact us at hello@joinoto.com and we could work something out for you. :)

7-26-26 app forces you to find a provider and pay fees now. it used to be great. Now it sucks, and I agree with another review, hearing 'specialists' have no clue what to do about tinnitus. I know, I went to a local audiologist, they said I was fine & no solutions. Better luck on Youtube. My rating went from 4 stars to 1. please fix this. Update 7-16-2025 The app has been working better and doesn't crash too much. Worth using for tinnitus sound and relief if it works with your phone.

I would give this 4 stars because it really was helpful. My doctor met with the developer and loved it enough to recommend it to me. Recently, it was upgraded and now won't even work unless you select a provider. Mineisn't on the list despite knowing the person behind the app. i'd hoped to use the app to help me sleep tonight.
