used to be free and accurate. now, can't authenticate any legitimate coin, forcing you to pay to upgrade for accurate results. used to rely on it, now just terrible AND they want you to pay for it Edit: nice canned response, developer. doesnt change the fact that the app won't accurately detect unless you pay (which is actually zero free pings), and it may be a small price to pay, but why should I pay it to you? Edit: except it isn't improving and you're asking too much.

Pingcoin

Hi Adam,
I’m sorry you feel that way.
Unfortunately I need to make a living.
When Pingcoin was free it wasn’t viable to develop updates, now I’m improving the app every week.

Adequate for what few coins are available in it however the lack of huge amounts of older silver coins being counterfeited in China limit it's usefulness. I personally would need to be able to test UK sterling & 50 % silver Crown, Half Crown, Double Florin, Florin, Shillings, 6 pence & 3 pence before it would be worth upgrading the app. Canadian and European (French, German, Netherlands, etc) silver coins as well.
Hi William,
Thanks for the input. It's less painful for me as a developer if you could pass such feedback along via email: jessems@gmail.com
Reviews are my lifeblood.
Let me know if you can help with the recordings, i will need to organize access to the coins you're mentioning.
And did you try to generic 1oz silver coin option?

once you get a good technique for pinging your coin (I balance the coin on the back of a tablespoon and tap the rim very lightly with something metal, in my case a pen), the app is fast and accurate. very light ping needed, so it's easy to get results. reliably determined my legit silver buffalo, and also rejected fakes.

Great tip, we’ll try that ourselves. Thanks for the review!
