About this game

Plan your day on the ice, pick your gear, and try to out-fish the field in Ice Fishing Derby 2, a 3D ice fishing game that mixes realistic tactics with fast, gamified fishing. Manage your money, equipment, and body heat across multi-day derbies or relax in free fishing mode and explore frozen lakes at your own pace.

Three ways to hit the ice
• Free Fishing – Keep your equipment from trip to trip, pick a lake, and fish without a weigh-in timer. Catch fish to earn gems and unlock better free-fishing gear over time.
• Open Derbies – Everyone starts each 5-day event with limited shop credit and basic gear. Choose what to buy, find productive spots, and try to build up to trophy-class fish before the derby ends.
• Pro Derbies – Unlock Pro and head to more lakes and fish for more species of fish. Start with more credit, access higher-end equipment, and drive a snowmobile to manually explore the lake and choose your own spots.

Plan, adapt, and stay warm
Before each derby day you’ll start in Kate’s bait shop with a small budget and a wall of tempting gear. Decide what matters most today: a stronger rod, a bigger auger, electronics, or extra bait and cocoa for the cold. Some items go on sale, so the “right” choice can change from day to day.

Out on the ice you can:
• Drill holes and set up your shanty to cut the wind
• Jig your bait or lures to attract fish without spooking them
• Use sonar or an underwater camera (when you can afford them) to read the water and find the best depth and species
• Move to new spots when the bite slows, trading precious time for a chance at better fish

You’ll get warnings as your character cools down, and you can drink cocoa, use heaters, or move around to warm up. Ignore the cold for too long and your day – or your derby – can end in a darkly comic way.

Lifelike fish and 3D lakes
Fish behave differently by species, size, and depth. Perch and walleye hug the bottom, crappie and trout suspend higher, and predators like pike or muskies may cruise through looking for a meal. Stronger rods and larger holes are required for bigger fish, and careful control of line tension makes the fight feel more like the real thing.
• 3D lakes with varied shorelines and structure
• Dynamic weather with falling snow and colder, windier days as derbies progress
• Multiple lakes and species including panfish, perch, walleye, pike, bass, trout and more on different waters
• NPC anglers and on-ice events – Other anglers may walk up with trade offers, new spots, and other surprises that can help or hurt your plans

Fair competition & progression
Derbies are designed so everyone earns their gear for that event. You start with shop credit, not a lifetime collection of items, so experienced players don’t bring years of upgrades into a new derby. The challenge is how quickly you can turn early-day catches into better equipment and, eventually, the biggest and most valuable fish.
• Compete against results from other players under the same lake and weather conditions
• Gem payouts for each fish in Free Fishing and for Derby results
• Track your performance across multiple derbies and lakes

Free to play with optional upgrades
Ice Fishing Derby 2 is free to download and play.
• Lake Pass unlocks all 22 lakes for free fishing and free exploration on foot
• Derby Pro unlocks everything in the Lake Pass, plus Pro Derbies, plus snowmobile exploration for Pro Derbies and Free Fishing
• Gems can be earned by playing or purchased, and are used to unlock lasting free-fishing equipment

Whether you want a thoughtful fishing sim with real decisions or a quick session trying to squeeze one more trophy walleye in before the clock hits zero, Ice Fishing Derby 2 brings the feel of tournament ice fishing to your phone or tablet.

perfect #2 to the original. I have been playing the 1st on and off for a very long time. absolutely love how much better the graphics have gotten better ands the in game hints are awesome. as a avid hard wayer fisherman myself this is a great game between trips. love that you actually have to work your way up during a tournament(unless you take advantage of the deals and spend a few bucks..also to help the game get better) NO ADS is fantastic! keep it it developer's the game is so much fun!

This game makes we want to get out on the ice. Like the options of electronics. It would be cool if you could have a friends list and be able to host a derby. Also to be able to unlock lakes with gems. Fun to play, even with only the two free lakes.

its an upgrade from the first one for sure but I'm not understanding how "Tyler" is in first place with $9'000 and I'm at $3,500. We all start the same and all but I'm lost on how he is apparently catching more fish then me with all of us having the "same" gear. I'm always constantly catching fish big or small but thats where im not understanding.

There's a lot of chance involved in addition to fishing skill. There's a huge difference in the value of each species, for one thing. If Tyler was lucky enough to catch a few muskies, they're worth $50 per inch, vs $20 per inch for pike. The occasional fish is tagged and worth extra. Getting certain trade offers can make a big difference, too.
