Layabout is lazy bed workouts done properly: short guided sessions you do lying down, without getting up, with your phone still in one hand. No standing, no floor space, no putting the phone down.
Most workouts in bed still expect you to prop the phone up somewhere or use both hands. Layabout doesn't. All 36 of its bed exercises work lying on your back or on your side, with one hand kept free for the phone.
HOW IT WORKS
• Pick a length: about 3, 5 or 10 minutes.
• Pick tonight's effort: Barely, Mild or Actually Trying. Harder levels swap in harder moves wherever a harder version exists.
• A 3D coach lying on a bed shows each move from an angled, front or side view, and a voice talks you through it, so you don't have to watch the screen closely.
• Moves done one side at a time tell you when to switch, and when a move means rolling over, when to pass the phone to your other hand.
36 MOVES, SIX WAYS IN
• Core: pelvic tilts, heel slides, heel taps, a one-arm dead bug and reverse crunches. Nothing that needs you to sit up.
• Glutes & Hips: bridges, bridge marches, clamshells, side leg lifts and a pillow squeeze.
• Legs & Circulation: ankle pumps, ankle circles, quad sets and calf presses.
• Neck & Shoulders: chin tucks, ear to shoulder, shoulder rolls and arm circles.
• Wind-Down: bedtime stretches and slow breathing to end the night on.
• Full Reset: a little of everything, head to ankles.
Browse them all in the Library, read how each one is done and what to watch for, and try any single move on its own.
BUILT FOR A DARK ROOM
• Dark theme by default, and a light theme if you prefer.
• Low-brightness mode dims the whole app below what your phone allows on its own.
• The player's buttons sit under the thumb of the hand that holds the phone, left or right.
• The screen stays awake while a session plays, and only then.
• Voice cues, countdown beeps and haptics each have their own switch. Beeps start off, because it's usually late.
• Portrait or landscape, so you can lie on your side.
HONEST NUMBERS
Layabout counts the sessions, minutes and nights you actually did. Skip through a session and it isn't counted. A fresh install starts at zero, with no invented streaks and no made-up stats. Your history and settings stay on your phone, and there's no account to create.
Layabout is free and contains ads. Its screens and voice guidance are in English.
Layabout offers general fitness guidance, not medical advice. If you have an injury or a health condition, check with a doctor before you start.
