About this app

DigiTally connects you directly with City of Tallahassee staff in order to more effectively and efficiently resolve issues in our community.

Here's how it works:
1. See something that needs to be fixed?
2. Submit a service request and even attach a photo.
3. City Staff receive the request and fix the problem!
4. You get notified when the service request is completed.

Users can monitor requests and provide comments. You can also check out the latest community news and events, find a park, adopt a pet or check to see when your next yard waste collection day is.

Download the app to get stay involved with your City today!

This app has always been marginal from the point of view of a long time developer. But it reached a new low about a year ago. When you open the app you are greeted with a blue screen with a "busy" animation. On an average day (when you don't really NEED the app) it soon opens to its home page. Invariably tho, when you need to report a power outage or other emergency the blue screen never clears. A "Whoops, something went wrong" dialog periodically offers "retry" but to no avail.

This app has always been way too slow to load, but recently it stopped working completely. ('Oops something went wrong' is all you get when starting it) Update: Accela support told me to clear all the data/cache associated with the app in device settings, and restart the app. That did solve the issue, and the app seems to load faster as well.

The app is, for all relevant purposes, an alternate interface for the website. This includes the ability to get to points that tell you to download the app for more convenient access. For submitting reports of problems (out lights, water leaks), it gets to the point for submitting where it then asks you to create an account. The account creation does not work. Thus, you cannot use it to submit a problem request, its very raison d'etre.
