Voting and Karma:

Instead of likes and hearts, Reddit’s social media network runs on upvotes or downvotes. Voting on posts and comments increase or decrease the creator’s karma, and helps popular and relevant posts rise to the top, while filtering out low-quality or irrelevant posts.

While karma doesn't directly impact your ability to use Reddit, more karma can increase posts’ visibility and help you get noticed. Some communities require karma to post or comment, which helps maintain content quality and community standards.

Join the largest social media platform and discover what matters to you!

The mobile app is fine for reading, but it often "can't reach reddit at the moment". Also, about half of videos people post in their posts are labeled as GIFs with no sound, when there is supposed to be. Everything you look at signs you up for notifications and you have to turn them off (some I want, so didn't do "no to all"). Haven't looked on the desktop site to see if these issues carry over to that version, as I am mobile more often than not. Do enjoy reading and engagement in subs.

Keeps crashing when I press 'reply' after the latest update. Thanks for banning the 3rd party apps that actually worked and forcing us to use your terrible native app! Edit: This app continues to be terrible. It refreshes all the time so pages are lost into the ether. Cross posting is bugged on mobile so you can't add text. Disappointing.

Latest version is awful for mobile app. The version where you could view the comments (hit down arrow) whilst still viewing the video worked really well. Also, for that version you could swipe right on each selected post (would continue to next post on your home page) was a great feature. The current swipe feature is terrible and confusing. It's now completely over-engineered and basically unusable.
