TARC On-Demand is a 6-month on-demand pilot ride-share service for New Albany and Jeffersontown brought to you by TARC. Use this app to plan your trip, select your choice of travel, and pay all from your mobile device. Connect with TARC’s fixed route bus service, or travel to and from anywhere within the designated zone. Once you book a ride, you’ll receive a time of arrival and your pickup location.

Your ride-share vehicle will be marked with TARC On-Demand branding to guarantee a safe, convenient, and affordable ride to your destination. Get moving with a new ride-share service from the Transit Authority of River City.

Ratings and reviews

I travel daily on public transportation and it lacks a lot. When using the online schedule it appears that it is inaccurate because there are quite a few times that I end up waiting on the #18 bus and it doesn't show up for the last 3 runs that the schedule shows having runs. At this point you cannot get a hold of the office nor anyone to help you. Numerous times I have walked from Moorman Rd in 40272 to Dixie Manor in 40258. I have had this problem with the 17, 43, 28, 29 bus. New Schedules!!

I love that Tarc has started this service! It is incredibly helpful and I really hope they continue it. It has been a lifesaver for my family. It would be even better if they could have a larger location range where it could go to places like Floyd Knobbs, Sellersburg, etc. But I am really thankful they have it in New Albany at least. 😁
